Emmanuel Lutheran Returning to

Pre-pandemic Worship Pattern

With Governor Mike DeWine lifting all health restrictions as of June 2, Emmanuel’s council has decided to return to worship life as we knew it before the pandemic. This will take place beginning with the weekend of June 5 and 6.

All doors will be opened and all pews available for seating. Communion will be distributed as before. There will be cookie fellowship after each service on this weekend to celebrate the return.

The 9:30 service on June 13 will be an inspirational service of music and sacrament. Hymns and special music from every season of the church year will be sung and performed through organ, choir, brass instruments and congregational voice lifted up in praise to make up for what we missed over the last year.

Being mindful that not all have been vaccinated, we continue to strive to make worship a comfortable, safe experience for everyone. The following will be done for a period of time for the sake of those who may yet be apprehensive:

Per CDC guidelines, mask wearing is still required for the unvaccinated in an indoor public gathering. Masks are optional for the vaccinated. Pews under the choir loft will be made available to those who still prefer to distance from others and who are uncomfortable with people speaking and singing directly in back of them. Cup and wafer will still be available in a tray for those who desire to receive contactless communion. Those preparing and distributing communion will sanitize hands prior to and wear a mask while doing so. These practices will be phased out as the need indicates.

With virus spread at its lowest and the ability to be vaccinated, it’s time to come home to worship in person with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. If you are hesitant, why not start out with a “baby step” and come to Saturday evening (average attendance about 30) worship?

Of course, if you have any symptoms of cold or flu, especially in these times, you are asked to please stay at home as a precaution.
